Thirlstane Golf Club has one of the best nine hole golf courses in Tasmania
Located 18km east of Devonport on Squeaking Point Road, Thirlstane Golf Course is located in the lush farming district of Thirlstane on Tasmania's Central North Coast about 7 kilomitres from Port Sorell and is surrounded by natural bushland.
The course was designed in 1980 by Australian amateur golfing great Peter Toogood. You will find flat fairways with alternate tee beds on four holes and a 144 metre par-3 that features a green situated between two lakes. The 6th tee at Thirlstane is sure to add a splash to what is described as a very picturesque and well maintained golf course.
Thirlstane Golf Club is not a public course but we do welcome visitors and green fees players providing they observe the rules of golf, exercise golfing etiquette and treat the course and everyone on it with respect.
Play Golf Join now!Summer Tee Times
Saturday competition tee times will revert to having two sets of starting times from 4th October, 2025. These arrangements will likely be in place for the daylight savings period, pending sufficient daylight.
- Early tee times will be from 7:30 to 9:01, going in 7 minute intervals allowing for 14 groups (56 players).
- The rest of the field will commence from 11:15 with 16 groups allocated (64 players).
We ask those who play early if they could have the correct change for competition fees as the bar won't be open that early in the morning.

- Men's Foursomes Day and during the Men's Championship (seeded draws).
- The Vet's Xmas Hamper Irish Stableford Day (shotgun start).
